Vietnam prepares to register the origin of seafoods
A seminar to highlight the importance of registering the origin of seafoods was held in Hanoi on August 18 by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).
It focused on discussing ways of how Vietnam can draw up procedures for processing factories and export businesses to register the origin of seafoods.
Initially, Vietnam will give priority to shrimp and catfish industries in the Mekong Delta region.
Vietnam needs to unify models of registering the origin of seafoods while adhering to global standards to be able to control products comprehensively and professionally, following the Agro-aqua-forestry Product Quality Management Department guidelines, under the MARD.
Up to now, Vietnam has exported seafoods to 145 countries and territories.
