Costa Rica keen to promote trade with Vietnam
Costa Rica will soon discuss the possibility of signing a bilateral trade agreement with Vietnam, Foreign Trade Minister Marco Vinicio Ruiz said on July 20.
In the mean time, Costa Rica is hoping all documents relating to free trade agreements with China and Singapore will be finalised before the end of President Oscar Arias’ term next May.
However, the Minister said Costa Rice wants to enter not just the Chinese market but the whole Asian market.
In the next few months, Costa Rica will hold technical meetings with Vietnam and Malaysia and accelerate negotiations with the Republic of Korea, Japan and India so that its next government will have a strong foundation for trade relations with these countries.
