Vietnam exports blue dragon fruits to the US
Vietnam has exported nearly 30 tonnes of blue dragon fruits to the US market over the past two months, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).
Nguyen Huu Dat, director of Post-Import Plant Quarantine Center II under the MARD announced that more than 10 tonnes of blue dragon fruits will be shipped by sea and the remaining by air.
Mr Dat said, five Vietnamese enterprises are involved in exporting blue dragon fruits to the US. These products are on sale at some Vietnamese markets and supermarkets in the US.
Blue dragon are mostly planted in the southern provinces of Binh Thuan, Tien Giang, Long An with an area of 8,000 hectares.
