Vietnam, Russia work to further economic ties
Vietnamese and Russian government officials have considered the construction of trade centres as one of the measures to help increase the effectiveness of economic ties and trade between the two countries.
The officials reached the agreement at the 12 th session of the Vietnam-Russia Inter-governmental Committee on Economic, Commercial, Scientific and Technological Cooperation that took place in Moscow on Oct. 23-24.
They expected the expansion of cooperation in oil and gas industry, power, mining, telecommunications, mechanical engineering, forestry, chemo-pharmacy, banking-finance, and direct cooperation between localities would help boost the economic ties.
Two-way trade between Vietnam and Russia is expected to reach 1.6 billion USD this year, creating an important momentum for the two countries to achieve or even surpass a target of 2 billion USD in 2010 set by the two prime ministers last September.
The two countries’ cooperation in oil and gas and power energy is developing effectively.
Within the framework of the session, working groups on trade, investment, industry and oil and gas held their regular meetings from Oct. 21-23.
