Hanoi invests in water supply plant in Vientiane

Hanoi-based Mai Dong company is launching a construction project of Dong Bang safe water supply plant in the Lao capital of Vientiane.

According to general director, Nguyen Viet Ha, the company contributed 80 percent of the 10 million USD investment to build a plant with a capacity of 20,000 m3 per day.

It is scheduled to be put into operation in October 2009.

The project between the Vietnamese company and its Vientiane partner is part of a cooperation framework between the two countries’ capitals.

Mai Dong company also plans to build more safe water supply plants in two Lao provinces of Savanakhet and Luongprabang.
