Vietnam to hold international rice conference
General Director of the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) Robert Zeigler announced Vietnam will hold the third International Rice Conference in 2010 (IRC-2010).
According to his statement at a press conference in Hanoi on Oct. 24, the conference aims to increase community support to poor farmers and consumers, as well as cooperation in rice research through sustainable investment and advanced technology.
The IRC-2010 will include a number of events such as the 28 th International Rice Research Conference and the third Global Rice Trading Conference.
Dr. Robert Zeigler said during the past 20 years, Vietnam has made many achievements in rice production and cooperated closely with IRRI in human resources training and researching.
