Production rises quickly after Tet
The central province of Nghe An has increased industrial production immediately after the year’s longest holiday, with wheat flour leading the growth, reaching 2,500 tonnes in February, a 4.3 fold increase year on year.
Other products posting considerable increases in outputs included fertilisers with a year on year rise of 49.42 percent, granite by 20.69 percent and bricks at 10.79 percent.
Factories rushed to fulfil their annual goals on the first working days after the 9-day retreat. The Ban Ve hydro-power plant installed two turbines for test-run while breweries, cement factories, seafood processors, garment factories and food makers chose to work during the national holiday.
As a result, the province’s industrial output was estimated at 547 billion VND, representing an increase of 12.61 percent over the same period last year.
In total, its industrial production rose by 12.67 percent to almost 1.3 trillion VND in the first two months of the year.
The non-State sector registered the highest growth rate of 16.44 percent while the foreign investment sector post a growth rate of 0.89 percent.
