BKIS joins global software association to protect copyright
Leading security provider Bach Khoa Internetwork Security (BKIS) has joined the international Business Software Alliance (BSA) to increase protection for its copyrighted software, especially in Viet Nam.
"The high incidence of copyright violation in Viet Nam limits our development. Joining the BSA is the way for us to protect and develop our products," Nguyen Tu Quang, BKIS director, said.
If only a fifth of the 5 million internet users in the country pay for using BKIS’ popular anti-virus programme, the company would have a turnover of US$20 million, he said.
As a member of BSA, BKIS will be part of the association’s activities in Viet Nam, including providing advice and consultancy to the Government for copyright protection strategies.
BSA, which includes global software giants like Microsoft, Apple, and Cisco, is an association for protecting software manufacturers against copyright violation and is headquartered in Washington DC, US, with 11 offices around the world involved in protecting work in 80 countries.
