Firms fail to utilise consulting services
Vietnamese enterprises need to effectively use business consulting services to overcome their difficulties and plan business strategies, experts told a seminar held by the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry along with some partners earlier this week.
Koenraad Tommissen, chairman of Management Consulting Institute Vietnam (MCI) said that companies should still be careful in choosing a consultant.
The factors that influenced this choice were the consultancy’s prestige and experience, he said.
To make a safe selection, companies should rely on recognised consultants and carefully check their background.
Professor Ton That Nguyen Thiem, director of the MBA & BBA training programme at United Business Institutes, said companies needed to clarify with the consultancy the time horizon for implementing the strategies.
Nguyen Thi Hong Ha, deputy director of the HCM City office of the VCCI, said Vietnamese firms often suffered from an inability to access new technologies and to compete against foreign firms due to poor management.
Consultancies played an important role in helping them overcome these problems, she added.
