Metro Cash & Carry Vietnam officially opened a 7,000 sq.m wholesale centre in the southern province of Dong Nai on July 9, the 9th of its kind in the country.
The Metro Bien Hoa, which has a total investment of 20 million EUR, including 17 million EUR worth of commodities, provides more than 26,000 products, 95 percent of which are made in Vietnam.
With the launch of this new centre, Metro Cash & Carry reconfirmed its commitment to long-term investment in Vietnam, said Randy Guttery, Director General of Metro Cash & Carry Vietnam.
He said Vietnam is one of the world’s fastest growing economies and after seven years of operation in Vietnam, his company’s self-service wholesale model has proved its advantages and adaptability to the local market.
Metro Cash & Carry has also help to boost the export of Vietnamese goods. Last year, it shipped around US$100 million worth of Vietnamese products abroad, mainly to the European market.
