Forum to promote investment in the Central Highlands
A forum will be held in Buon Ma Thuot City, in the central highland province of Dak Lak on September 5.
On the occasion, the people’s committees from five central highland provinces will highlight their potential, advantages and incentive investment policies and introduce a list of projects that need investment.
Domestic and foreign economic organisations, investors and businesses will meet and discuss cooperation opportunities. The forum is expected to draw participants including 70 foreign guests, ambassadors and representatives from Laos and Cambodia and international organisations.
The organising board will hold two meetings in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to introduce the central highlands socio-economic potential.
In the eight years from 2001 to 2008, total investment capital injected into in the region only reached VND109,000 billion, equal to 4 percent of the country’s total figure. Of this figure, US$929.11 million came from ODA and nearly US$1.2 billion from FDI.
