Vietnam helps Venezuela develop agriculture

Vietnam will help Venezuela to develop aquaculture and rice cultivation, the top priority in the latter’s policy on national food security.

According to Vice Minister of Agriculture and Land Ivan Gil, a group of Vietnamese experts has recently visited the country to study soil, climate and technical conditions for agricultural production and work out plan for cooperation projects in the future.

Ivan Gil informed that a project on fish rearing combined with rice growing rice will be carried out in Cuba’s Apure state and expressed his belief that aquaculture at canals and reservoirs, which were used to watering rice fields, would bring high efficiency.

Besides, Vietnam also helps Venezuela raise shrimps in Falcon state and plant rubber trees in Amazonas state.
