US business mission visits Vietnam
The US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) will send representatives of 15 leading American corporations to Vietnam from May 13-15 to seek for business opportunities in the country.
The business delegation is headed by Matthew P. Daley, President of the USABC, and Stuart Dean, President, Southeast Asia, of the General Electronic.
The 32-member delegation, including CEOs of such giants as Abbott Laboratories, Caterpillar, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil, Ford, General Electric, Guardian Industries and Time Warner, will have discussions with Vietnam partners on energy, hard infrastructure, entertainment and intellectual property rights, financial services, health services, trade and WTO commitments, customs reform, and other issues.
According to the USABC, US businesses to Vietnam this time are deeply engaged in energy security issues and look to provide a range of energy resources.
In infrastructure development, some businesses will provide key components for a variety of needs from airplane engines, to security systems for ports and airports, and physical infrastructure, including power and transmission lines that feed Vietnam’s hi-tech parks.
