Chinese look for reliable business partners
A delegation of business people from China’s Guangxi and Sichuan provinces as well as Shanghai have arrived in Vietnam to study the processed foods market and seek out suppliers of various agricultural, pharmaceutical and construction products.
On May 12, the delegation attended a meeting with Vietnamese entrepreneurs held by the Industry and Trade Ministry’s Asia-Pacific Department and the Vietnamese Consulate General in Nanning.
The two sides discussed various measures to enable them to adhere to international trade regulations. The Industry and Trade Ministry also pledged to support and advise Vietnamese businesses on government policies while creating a favorable business environment to help Chinese enterprises import Vietnamese products.
According to statistics from the Industry and Trade Ministry, Vietnamese-Chinese trade turnover has increased rapidly in recent years at an average growth rate of 25 percent a year with China becoming Vietnam’s premier partner.
In 2008, two-way trade turnover between the two countries hit over 20 billion USD, a year-on-year increase of 27.3 percent and is expected to reach 25 billion USD by 2010.
