UK firm plans $150 million Vietnam wind-power plant
Trading Emissions Plc., a UK investor in environmental and emissions assets, plans to build a wind-power plant in Vietnam.
The plant may cost about US$150 million and will be located in the central province of Ninh Thuan, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said in a statement on its website. It did not give more details.
Vietnam’s power demand may increase 13 percent this year, an official forecast shows. Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai told ministries and provinces to accelerate electricity projects to increase the country’s generation capacity, the government said on its website Wednesday.
The government has not approved the Trading Emissions project yet, the industry and trade ministry said.
