BIDV to finance projects in northern border province
The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) said it will provide investors in the Dong Dang Border Gate Economic Zone (DBEZ) in northern mountainous Lang Son province with its best financial, banking and consulting services.
Speaking at a press conference to announce the upcoming DBEZ Investment Promotion Conference in Hanoi on May 14, BIDV Deputy General Director Doan Tien Dung said that the bank will provide credit packages for feasible investment projects in the steel and plastics sectors, construction materials, computer parts, auto components, transport infrastructure, trade and services and the agro-forestry-fisheries industries.
BIDV will provide a comprehensive banking service which will include funding for import-export operations and short, medium and long-term loans for investment projects based in the zone, he added.
Appreciating the excellent prospects for sustainable investment in Lang Son province in general and the DBEZ in particular, Dung added that the BIDV is also planning to invest directly in several projects in the area.
Vice Chairman of the Lang Son municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Van Binh affirmed that the province will create the best possible conditions for investors as well as providing them with preferential policies.
The DBEZ Investment Promotion Conference, scheduled to be held in Lang Son province on May 20, will outline the province’s position, it’s potential for development and preferential policies, as well as the BIDV’s preferential credit policies for investors in the EZ.
The EZ’s development is considered important for Lang Son province’s socio-economic development, especially in increasing export turnovers from China and other ASEAN countries, Binh said.
At the conference, Lang Son provincial People’s Committee plans to call for investment in 45 new projects in the province’s industrial parks and the DBEZ during the 2009-2015 period.
