Vinacomin breaks ground on thermo-power project
Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) on April 16 began leveling a site in central Binh Thuan Province’s Tuy Phong District on which a thermo-power center will be developed.
The work is part of a government-assigned contract package for land clearance at the Vinh Tan thermopower center’s three plants, Vinacomin said.
According to a government directive for power sector development until 2025, the 4,400- megawatt Vinh Tan thermo-power center – worth US$6.1 billion and comprising three plants and one seaport – will be the country’s largest thermal power complex.
