New center to supply materials for textile, footwear industry
A center that will supply materials to the textile and garment and footwear industries will open next week in Binh Duong Province, the Lien Anh Company, a garment and footwear producer, has announced.
Lien Anh has invested VND100 billion (US$5.56 million) in establishing the center that will consist of a warehouse, factories, offices and a transaction area.
While apparel and footwear are two major export staples for Vietnam, local manufacturers have had to import many materials required for production, the company said.
It expects the center, which will start operations on May 18, will meet the demand of local exporters in the key economic southern zone as well as their foreign partners.
