Asian hi-tech park leaders meet in Hanoi
The fourth meeting of the Asian Science Park Association (ASPA) leaders opened in Hanoi on May 20 to discuss the role of related parties in the development of high technologies.
The meeting, hosted by the Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park in Hanoi, has attracted the participation of leaders of Asian science parks, as well as scientists and businesses that invest in hi-tech parks in Asia.
This year’s event will focus on major issues such as developing strategic orientations for regional development of high technologies, building a network of and models for cutting-edge science parks, and implementing their strategy for technological development.
Addressing the opening ceremony, the Chairman of the ASPA, Dr Lee Jong-hyun, highlighted science parks as a key factor for the development of intellectual industries and innovation in Asian technologies. He said his organization will overcome disparities between countries to lead the Asian networks of industry and technology and to further assist technological transfer on the continent.
The ASPA is a non-governmental agency that was founded in Japan in 1997 with the aim of developing Asia’s science, technology, industry and economy. It is trying to introduce a new model for Asian industries and the expansion of local economies.
