Korean Life insurer launches SMS service

Korea Life Vietnam Monday introduced the “Instant messaging. Instant insurance” SMS service, becoming the first life insurer in Vietnam to offer its services through mobile phone messaging.

Upon receiving the application and premium from the customer, the insurance agent will send a text message to the company’s hotline.

In Vietnam customers get temporary coverage against accidental death during the waiting period.

But this benefit only accrues after the insurance company receives the application documents and premium in full.

Since almost all such transactions are made through agents, it may be difficult to define the point of time when this temporary insurance comes into effect, often resulting in disputes.
