Panasonic launches training in Vietnam

Japanese electronics giant Panasonic inaugurated its Vietnam training center in Hanoi Tuesday, in a bid to develop skills in the country.

The facility, located at the Panasonic Plant in Thang Long Industrial Park, will provide modern training courses for engineers of Panasonic plants in the country.

Courses will also teach leadership skills and creativity. Each basic two month course will have 25 students, with an applied course for six months teaching 20 engineers.

A large majority of university educated hi-tech graduates failed to meet international standards, The Saigon Times recently reported.

Along with Panasonic’s research and development center, opened in 2006 in collaboration with the Hanoi University of Technology, the new training center will help improve the situation and add to the development of the hi-tech industry in the country.

Panasonic has been present in Vietnam since 1996 and employs about 7,000 people in six umbrella companies.
