Marketing, R&D needed to survive slump, says marketer
Vietnamese businesses could sink deeper into recession if they neglect marketing, and research and development (R&D), a Japanese marketing expert warned.
Speaking at the Japanese-Vietnamese Marketing meeting in Ho Chi Minh City Monday, president of the Yamamoto International Marketing Institute, Manabu Yamamoto, said: “The recession does not mean producers will not sell their products unless they do nothing to promote their products and seek new market for their businesses.”
He noted that some Japanese businesses in Vietnam have cut prices by 15-20 percent and introduced new products to hold on to their customers, pointing out such measures helped them.
