Shares retreat in HCM City
The VN-Index on the HCM Stock Exchange shed 0.12 per cent to close at 373.00 points after a rally that continued for nine successive sessions.

Over half of all listed stocks added points during this morning's trading.
The value of trades surged more than 97 per cent over yesterday's level, hitting VND661.7 billion (US$31.5 million) as trading volume reached 29.6 million shares.
Among the 10 leading shares by capitalisation, only Phu My Fertiliser (DPM), Eximbank (EIB) and property developer Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAG) rose between 0.7-3.1 per cent.
Japan Viet Nam Medical Instrument Co (JVC) continued to be the most active code in HCM City with nearly 2.3 million shares changing hands.
Meanwhile, on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index inched up 0.05 per cent to 58.44 points.
Gainers outnumbered losers by 133-97. Market value fetched VND196.8 billion ($9.4 million), increasing 21.3 per cent compared to yesterday's close, on a volume of 25.1 million shares.
With 2.8 million shares exchanged, VNDirect Securities Co (VND) was the most active stock nationwide.
