VN-Index recedes near 350
Stocks on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange declined the third day on December 26, dragging Vietnam’s benchmark to a 32-month low for another day as investors dumped shares heavily to escape from the bearish market.

The measure which tracks 301 companies and five mutual funds listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange threw away 0.99 percent, or 3.53 points, to close at 352.68 points.
Across the benchmark, 75 stocks climbed, 150 shrank, while 81 remained unchanged.
Trading on the city bourse improved by 50 percent in volume, and 84 percent in value over the previous day as 42.84 million shares changed hands at a total value of VND734 billion.
The fourth largest listed bank Saigon Thuong Tin Joint Stock Commercial Bank or Sacombank (STB) continued to top the list of most active shares in volume with 2.33 million shares changing hands.
Refrigeration Electrical Engineering Corporation (REE) followed with 1.06 million shares.
Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MBB) came next with 1.03 million shares traded.
Viky Plastic Joint Stock Company (VKP) plunged 11.11 percent to close at VND800.
Basa Joint Stock Company (BAS) edged down 7.69 percent to close at VND1,200.
Meca Vneco Investment & Electricity Construction Joint Stock Company (VES) dropped 6.25 percent to VND1,500.
Saigon Fuel Joint Stock Company (SFC) rallied for four consecutive trading sessions, gaining 4.96 percent to VND25,400.
General Materials Biochemistry Fertilizer Joint Stock Company (HSI) moved forward 4.94 percent to finish at VND8,500.
Phuoc Hoa Rubber Joint Stock Company (PHR) surged 4.91 percent to VND27,800.
Hanoi’s HNX-Index of the smaller bourse in the north plummeted 1.43 percent, or 0.83 points, to close at 57.17 points. Trading volume and value rose by 30 percent over last weekend as around 32.2 million shares changed hands at a value of VND264 billion.
Meanwhile, the UPCoM-Index of unlisted shares dipped 0.03 percent, or 0.01 points, to close at 34.14 points. A total of 385,210 shares changed hands at a value of VND3.69 billion.
