VN-Index falls below 350 as investors discouraged
The Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange flooded in red for four consecutive trading sessions on December 27 as investors kept selling off shares to flee from the gloomy market.

Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index, which tracks 301 companies and five mutual funds listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, slashed 1.38 percent, or 4.88 points, to close at 347.8 points.
Across the benchmark, 52 stocks gained, 182 lost, while 72 remained unchanged.
Trading on the city bourse improved by 34 percent in volume, and 10 percent in value over the previous day as 54.5 million shares changed hands at a total value of VND809 billion.
The fourth largest listed bank Saigon Thuong Tin Joint Stock Commercial Bank or Sacombank (STB) led the list of most active shares in volume with 5.54 million shares changing hands.
Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MBB) won second rank with 1.72 million shares.
Ho Chi Minh City-based Refrigeration Electrical Engineering Corporation (REE) dropped to third rank with 1.34 million shares traded.
Viky Plastic Joint Stock Company (VKP) chopped 12.5 percent to close at VND700.
Dam Sen Water Park Corporation (DSN) sank 12.1 percent to close at VND21,800.
Dien Quang Joint Stock Company (DQC) shed 11.81 percent to VND11,200.
Saigon Beverages Join Stock Company (TRI) rebounded 5.56 percent to VND1,900.
Cuu Long Petro Urban Development & Investment Corporation (CCL) surged the fourth day, escalating 5 percent to finish at VND10,500.
Investment Commerce Fisheries Corporation (ICF) climbed 4.88 percent to VND4,300.
Hanoi’s HNX-Index of the smaller bourse in the north tumbled 0.82 percent, or 0.47 points, to close at 56.7 points. Around 36.4 million shares changed hands at a value of VND312.58 billion.
Meanwhile, the UPCoM-Index of unlisted shares reduced 0.53 percent, or 0.18 points, to 33.96 points at 2:40pm local time. A total of 310,200 shares changed hands at a value of VND3.82 billion.
