The figure was confirmed at a regular monthly press conference for October held by the Government Office in Hanoi on November 6. It was presided over by Minister, Head of the Government Office Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat.
The economic growth rate, floods in the central region and increasing prices of goods were issues of primary concern.

Meanwhile, consumer price index rose by 1.05 percent against the previous month, with education remains the leading position at 3.9 percent, followed by the food group.
Regarding the floods in the central region, Minister Cao Duc Phat noted the Government, ministries, departments and localities had mobilised all resources to cope with the consequences. The Government provided nearly VND900 billion in funds and tens of tonnes of rice, and helped local people repair infrastructure, recover production and stabilise their lives.
