Vietnam Deputy Finance Minister: Inflation currently stable

Vietnamese Deputy Finance Minister Tran Xuan Ha on Friday said inflation in Vietnam is currently within expectations, and that the country is trying to keep the dong stable.

"Inflation is currently within expectations," he told Dow Jones Newswires on the sidelines of a meeting of finance ministers of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation member nations in Kyoto, central Japan.

His comment comes amid speculation that Vietnam may devalue the dong for the fourth time since November 2009.

In October, the country's Consumer Price Index rose 9.66% on year.
