HNX and HKEx sign MOU

On Friday 2 July 2010, the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation and the exchange of information.

The MOU was signed by HNX Deputy Chief Executive Officer Nguyen Vu Quang Trung and HKEx Chief Operating Officer Gerald Greiner.  The signing ceremony was held at HKEx’s Viewing Gallery.  The Consul-General of Vietnam in Hong Kong Pham Cao Phong, HKEx Chairman Ronald Arculli and other senior representatives of HNX and HKEx also attended and witnessed the ceremony.

The areas of cooperation include regular meetings or other forms of communication between senior executives of the parties to enhance their understanding of developments in either party’s financial and securities markets and to evaluate further business opportunities; conducting joint research projects and jointly organizing conferences on topics that are conducive to the Objective; and periodic exchange or secondment of staff to enhance the understanding of either party’s operations.

HNX is a state-owned limited liability company established by the Decision No. 01/2009/QD-TTg by the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam;

HKEx is the recognized exchange controller of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited and Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited in Hong Kong;
