New packaging plant for PetroVietnam in Bac Lieu

The construction of a packaging plant in the southern province of Bac Lieu started on June 28 with Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung in attendance.

The plant is being built for the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) and can turn out 20 million tonnes of products per year, of which 16 million will be provided for the Ca Mau fertiliser plant, which the group also owns.

Deputy PM Hung praised the positive economic cooperation shown between PetroVietnam and Bac Lieu province.

Once it is operation, in twelve months, the 125 billion VND plant will help to boost the province’s industrial sector and provide jobs for local workers.

The deputy PM also asked Bac Lieu Province and PetroVietnam to enable the contractors to ensure the construction is carried out on schedule and without any set backs.
