Cashew exports to reach 1 billion USD
The cashew sector expects to have a total output of 400,000 tonnes with value of 1.2 billion USD this year.
Of the figure, exports will account for 1 billion USD, which could place the country at the top of the world’s cashew exporters, according to the Vietnam Cashew Association.
The country now has more than 450,000 ha of cashew plantations and more than 200 cashew processing plants.
Last year, cashew exports reached 177,150 tonnes worth 846 million USD, up 7.1 percent in volume and down 7 percent in value compared to 2008.
