Vietnam attends Hong Kong Food Expo
Two Vietnamese companies are among 490 exhibitors from 17 countries and territories participating in the 20th Hong Kong Food Expo from August 13-17.
Held annually by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (KHTDC), the expo has become a remarkable event for food enterprises and companies as well as customers. The previous fair welcomed more than 300,000 visitors and the number is expected to increase this year despite the global economic recession.
On this occasion, the HKTDC together with the Chinese Tea Culture International Exchange Association held a first-ever international tea fair from August 13-15, with the participation of 250 exhibitors from major tea-producing centers in the world, including India, Sri Lanka, mainland China, Taiwan and the UK.
Vietnam showcased its products in three booths. Black tea, O Long and Pho Nhi of the Vinatea Tea Company and the Cau Tre Export Products Processing Joint Stock Company draw much attention from visitors.
Thanh Ha Fish Sauce and Delta Food Companies attracted visitors with Vietnamese special foods such as fish sauces and dried jack-fruit segments.
The fair is a good opportunity for Vietnamese tea businesses to promote their trademarks and seek partners from around the world.
