Southern farmers attend marketing course

Farmers in Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces attended a two-day marketing training course that opened in the commercial hub yesterday.

The course, part of the Vietnam Agriculture Market Information Project supported by the Canadian government, aims to help farmers analyze information and approach agricultural chains in local and export markets.

The course will take them on tours of agricultural retail businesses.

The project focuses on farmers raising vegetables and fruits as the products spoil easily and need quick sales.

The institute said farmers were good planters but poor at marketing, a skill they would need for optimal profits.
