Outstanding businesses and entrepreneurs honoured

A ceremony was held in Hanoi on July 19 by the Vietnam Small and Medium-sized Enterprises’ Association (VSMEA) to honour outstanding Vietnamese businesses and entrepreneurs in 2008.

In his opening speech, VSMEA Chairman Cao Sy Kiem said that 111 businesses and 56 entrepreneurs have qualified to receive the 2008 Golden Cup for Vietnamese businesses and entrepreneurs.

They have made every effort to weather the storm in the context of the global economic downturn and made a positive contribution to the community’s development in the fields of production and business, said Khiem.

On the occasion, National Assembly Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Kien praised the achievements made by the Vietnamese business community in which, he said small and medium-sized enterprises have significantly contributed to generating more jobs for workers so as to ensure social welfare and improve people’s standard of living.

He expressed the hope that the selection will continue to be made in the future to attract more successful businesses and entrepreneurs.
