Seminar advises job seekers during crisis
Speakers at a seminar Tuesday told attendants that they need to make themselves stand out from the crowd during the economic slump.
“Losing your job doesn’t mean losing it all if you keep your mind strong and look at the positive side of the issue,” said Chris Harvey, General Director of Vietnamworks.com, the country’s largest online job-finding website. “The unemployment period should be considered a necessary break in your career.”
Speakers suggested job seekers sharpen their competitiveness while waiting to enter the employment market again.
“Making it (the period of unemployment) a useful time by learning and equipping yourselves with new knowledge and advanced skills will allow you to move forward even stronger, faster, and better,” said Harvey.
Tang Tri Trong, National Sales Director of Vietnamworks.com, said job seekers needed to know exactly what their recruiters’ requirements were.
Tran Bang Viet, Vice Head of Business Development of Mai Linh Corporation, said most employers wanted employees who were talented but also honest and open-minded.
Vietnamworks.com, which organized the event, provides job-posting services and a searchable database containing over 190,000 CVs.
