Chan May Port receives first tanker of imported oil

The Thua Thien-Hue Petrol and Oil Company under the PetroVietnam Oil Corporation (PV Oil) Tuesday orchestrated the reception of the first tanker of imported oil to dock at the newly deepened Chan May Port.

The vessel, named Mekongtrans 2, carried 5,000 cubic meters of oil.

Company Deputy Director Dang Tho Dung said the company paid a total of VND11 billion (US$619,000) in fees, tariffs and value-added tax (VAT) to import the oil.

The company has planned to sell about 78,000 cubic meters of oil to markets in the north central region by the end of the year with an expected turnover of VND700 billion ($39.41 million). The company predicts it will pay around VND47 billion ($2.64 million) in VAT and other fees, not including import tax, to the provincial treasury.
