US remains top importer of Vietnamese garments and textiles
In the current global economic downturn, despite seeing a decrease, Vietnam’s garments and textiles sector still accounts for around 5 percent of all garments and textiles imported by the US coming second amongst other importers.
According to the Deputy General Secretary of Vietnam Garments and Textiles Association, Nguyen Van Son, Vietnam earned more than US$1 billion from its export to the US in the first quarter of this year.
Also in the same period, only four other garments and textiles exporters posted a positive growth including Vietnam with a rise of two percent.
