Food silos to be built

Food silos for export rice reserve are now under construction in Dong Thap province by the Vietnam Northern Food Corporation.

The project is built in Tan Loc A hamlet, Tan Duong commune, Lai Vung district with a total area of over 27,000 m2. It has a total investment capital of VND 152 billion and a capacity of 45,000 tonnes of food. A rice processing factory with a capacity of 48 – 50 tonnes per hour equipped with the most modern rice processing line is also being built in Cuu Long river delta with the aim of increasing the capacity for buying rice and ensuring the national food security.

Another project of the kind is also planned in An Giang and Kien Giang provinces to raise the capacity for reserving and processing rice of the Corporation in Cuu Long river delta to 500,000 tonnes.
