Petrol prices up by VND500/litre

The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade have agreed to increase retail prices of petrol by VND500/litre as from April 12.

Accordingly, petrol A92 is now priced at VND12,000/litre and petrol A95 costs VND12,500/litre.

The retail price of kerosene also goes up by VND500 to VND11,500/litre. Meanwhile, the prices of diesel and FO remain unchanged.

The price hike was proposed by the Vietnam National Petroleum Corporation (Petrolimex), the Military Petroleum Company,  and the Mekong Petroleum Joint Stock Company.

According to Vuong Thai Dung, deputy general director of Petrolimex, global petrol and oil prices rose to US$60/barrel and major wholesale petrol business companies faced a loss of VND1,000/litre for petrol and diesel.

Earlier on April 2, the two ministries raised petrol retail prices by VND500/litre.
