Plei Krong hydro-electric plant begins its run

The first turbine of the Plei Krong hydro-electric power plant was put into trial operation in the Central Highland province of Kon Tum on Apr. 9.

It is expected to officially generate electricity to the national grid by the end of this month.

The two-turbine plant has a design capacity of 100 MW and will produce 417 million kWh annually.

Its operation will help raise the capacity of lower hydro electric plants such as Ya Ly, Se San 3, Se San 3A and Se San 4.
