Intel names three premier partners
Intel Vietnam Ltd. on Monday named three premier partners who are retailing and distributing Intel’s products in Vietnam with an aim to deepen its presence in the country’s information technology market.
The three partners are Tran Anh Digital Join Stock, Phong Vu Trade and Service and Hoan Long Computer companies, which will distribute and resell all Intel’s products in 2009.
Thieu Phuong Nam, marketing director of Intel Semiconductor Ltd in Vietnam, said at the signing ceremony that the agreement was an important step of Intel to further penetrate the local market. Through the three retailers, local clients could enjoy Intel’s qualified products and services via a huge distribution channel. Intel will support its premier partners to train staffs and provide technology assistance.
“To become Intel’s authorized resellers, the three companies have good distribution systems, high revenues and have business policies which are suitable with the U.S. giant semiconductor maker,” Nam added.
According to Nam, the partners are mainly distributing Intel’s processors and main-boards in Hanoi and HCM City.
Earlier, with an aim to seize a greater share of Vietnam’s hardware market, Intel joined hands with Silicom Group last month to sell 20,000 desktops with the Atom processor. The desktops are priced at VND3.8 million per unit, or 20% lower than the market price, and are being retailed in 18 provinces.
