HCMC’s business education levels announced
More than half of staff of firms at Ho Chi Minh City’s export processing zones and industrial parks had low levels of education, according to a survey by the municipal Department of Science and Technology.
Of the staff 429 businesses surveyed, 51 percent had low levels of education, the department said Tuesday.
Only 1 percent the firms’ employees had high levels of education and 36 percent had average levels.
At Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone, where foreign-invested enterprises made up the majority of firms, 61 percent of the surveyed businesses had low education levels.
The survey found 11 percent of employees had completed high school and 6 percent had a university degree.
