LSS: Explanation for business activities in quarter 3/2008

Lam Son Sugar Joint Stock Corporation (LSS) explained for its business activities in quarter 3/3008 as follows:

The company’s profit after tax decreased by 14% on the last quarter (Profit after tax of Quarter 3/2008 is 21,397,658,266 dongs; while which of quarter 2/2008 is 24,807,810,465 dongs) due to following reason:

* Increase of financing expenses by 277% since the company set up provision for devaluation of stock investment.

* The losses on LSS’s joint-venture increased by 791% because Lam Son Milk joint stock company, the association partner of LSS, also set up provision for devaluation of stock investment in quarter 3.
