Mai Linh to expand to Russia, Japan
Mai Linh Corporation, Vietnam’s leading taxi firm, said Wednesday it will expand its business to Russia and Japan next year.
A company official said the board had agreed to set up two affiliates in Russia and Japan, which they considered promising markets for tourism, transportation services and restaurants, in the third quarter next year.
Mai Linh, which has 6,000 taxis, also has construction, tourism, trade, training, information technology and security businesses.
The corporation, with 80 affiliates in Vietnam, recently adjusted its turnover target this year to VND2.5 trillion (US$150 billion), down from nearly VND3.7 trillion ($216 million) due to the global economic downturn. Last year, its turnover reached more than VND1 trillion.
