Vietnam boosts investment in Laos’ Savannakhet

Vietnam has been increasing its investment in the Lao central province of Savannakhet, which shares borderline with Vietnam.

With the Sava-Seno special economic zone along the East-West Economic Corridor, the province has attracted more investment projects from Vietnam. According to the provincial Planning and Investment Department, Vietnam ranks third in terms of foreign investment projects in the province.

Vietnam’s investment is part of the two governments’ cooperation agreement in education, human resource development, sustainable development, information-culture, trade, infrastructure, tourism and services.

Vietnam’s investment in Savannakhet province has so far totalled 38 million USD, focusing on wood processing and electric fibre production projects.
