Vietnam, India discuss trade remedies
A delegation from the Ministry of Industry and Trade visited India from October 12-17 to learn experiences in the enforcement of anti-dumping, anti-subsidy and trade defence laws as well as in dealing with foreign lawsuits on export goods.
During the visit, the Vietnam Competition Administration delegation worked with the Indian Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Anti-dumping and Anti-subsidy General Department and the Indian Finance Ministry’s Trade Defence General Department.
The India agencies introduced the Vietnamese guests of legal regulations and procedures for investigations related to and application of anti-dumping, anti-subsidy and safeguard measures.
The two sides exchanged information on issues relating to market-oriented economy and experiences in dealing with trade lawsuits at the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
The Vietnamese delegation also met representatives of several law firms and associations of major export industries in India .
India is one of the countries experienced in tackling the imposing of anti-dumping measures. During 1995-2007, the country conducted investigations into 508 anti-dumping cases related to exports.
