Nigerian delegation to scout Vietnam market
A Nigerian delegation of about 60 government officials and company leaders will visit Vietnam from October 20 to 25 to survey the local market, Ho Chi Minh City’s Investment and Trade Promotion Center said Tuesday.
The visit aims to help Nigerian businesses seek investment opportunities and promote trade relations between the two countries.
The Nigerian delegation comprises leaders of different economic sectors including electronics, pharmaceuticals, finance and banking, coal, telecommunications and shipping.
Two investment and trade seminars will be held in Hanoi and HCMC during the Nigerian delegation’s six-day visit.
Bilateral trade between Vietnam and Nigeria topped US$62 million last year.
Vietnam mainly imports raw cashew nuts and cotton from Nigeria, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
It exports rubber products, plastic, electric and electronic goods, footwear and handicrafts to the West African country, the ministry said.
