Vietnam Airlines opens new rep. office in France
The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has removed its France branch office to Champs-Elysee Avenue in Paris .
A launching ceremony was held on Oct. 23 in the presence of Vietnamese Ambassador Le Kinh Tai, Vietnam Airlines Chairman and CEO Pham Ngoc Minh, and the airlines’ partners in France .
The movement was made to prepare for the carrier’s plan to increase flights to France and other European countries.
Addressing the event, Minh said the Vietnam-France route has made great contributions to the airlines’ development over the recent time.
Paris , together with Frankfurk in Germany and Moscow in Russia , is considered as an important gate for the airlines to enter Europe , he said.
Minh also revealed that Vietnam Airlines will intensify investment to develop its market in France .
Le Dung, Director of the Vietnam Airlines rep. office in France , said the French market is important for Vietnam Airlines as more and more tourists from France come to Vietnam and the demand for investment and trade between the two countries as well as in the Vietnamese community in France is increasing.
Dung said the airlines, in coordination with Air France , plans to conduct up to nine flights to France by late 2009.
