Fishery centres built in central province

The central province of Thanh Hoa has invested 290 billion VND (17.37 million USD) to upgrade and build three centres for the fishery industry.

Of the total, 125 billion VND was used to expand the Lach Bang fishing port to 48ha to include service and processing areas as well as a market.

The Lach Bang fishery centre will also have a new 60ha shelter able to accommodate between 500-700 fishing boats with their engine’s capacity of below 400CV, and an extended 200m-long wharf to receive 600CV ships.

Another fishery centre, the Lach Hoi centre, is under construction as from August 2007 with an initial investment of 79 billion VND.

Once completed, the centre will include a 41ha shelter for some 700 ships with capacity of below 600 CV.

The province also plans to further its investment to build a 20ha area for services and processing in the Lach Hoi port.

At the same time, 70 billion VND has been invested in building the Hoa Loc fishing port in an effort to turn it into another fishery centre of the province.
