Over 900,000 tonnes of tra fish harvested

Over 900,000 tonnes of tra fish have been harvested so far this year with a total export turnover of nearly US$1 billion, equivalent to that of the whole year last year.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), Vietnam's total tra output is expected to be 1.3 million tonnes with an export turnover of US$1.6 billion. Vietnam's tra catfish has been exported to 107 countries and territories.

MARD Deputy Minister Luong Le Phuong said that businessmen and farmers should boost co-operation to maximise benefits for both sides.

The ministry urges enterprises to expand markets, accelerate inspection of input products to ensure the quality of the outputs upon exports.
