Trung Son hydro-electric power plant project approved

The Prime Minister has approved the Trung Son hydro-electric power plant project in Thanh Hoa province with a total investment capital of US$386 million.

Of this figure, US$330 million come from the World Bank loan via the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The remaining US$56 million is contributed by the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN)

The project is scheduled to be put into operation in 2014 and the whole project will be completed in 2015.

The PM asks EVN to co-ordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and relevant agencies to work out compensation policies as well as resettlement plan and submit them to the PM for consideration and approval.
